Looking to support local farmers and fishermen as you cook up something special for your sweetheart or loved ones this Valentine’s Day? Join Lisa Packard for a “Mainetarian” cooking class on Thursday, February 8, 5:30-7:30 pm. Come learn how to prepare unique, healthful dishes from the bounty of Maine’s farms and fisheries, including “Heart Beet Soup” and “Root Lovin’ Muffins”. Lisa will also recommend local wines to accompany your Valentine’s meal. All ingredients will be provided.
Lisa Packard is the farm educator at the Morris Farm. The mother of two hungry teenagers, Lisa fed her family entirely from food grown and produced in Maine for one year, and shared their experience at the Common Ground Fair.
